Preparing for the SAT
Anyone wishing to find out more about the new SAT may go to the College Board website at: www.collegeboard.org.
To prepare for the SAT, students should:
- Challenge themselves throughout high school by taking rigorous courses, including 4 years of math
- Read and write as much as possible - both in and outside of school
- Familiarize themselves with the SAT so they know what to expect on test day
- Familiarize themselves with the different types of questions on the SAT, the directions of each type of question, and how the test is scored. All of this information and more may be found on the College Board website noted above.
When Should I take the SAT?
The College Board recommends the following:
-
PSAT - fall of Junior year
-
SAT - spring of Junior year and then in fall of Senior year
